SAISD Instructional Aide in SAN ANGELO, Texas
Positions available at multiple locations Minimum Qualifications: Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent; hold or ability to obtain a valid Texas educational aide certificate; experience and ability to work well with children; ability to assist with classroom instruction; effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills; proficient computer skills to develop spreadsheets, databases, and perform word processing. San Angelo ISD requires that all instructional paraprofessionals meet one of the following qualifications of the No Child Left Behind Act: - Have completed at least 48 hours of study at an institution of higher education; or - Have obtained an associate s (or higher) degree; or - Have met a rigorous standard of quality and can demonstrate, through a formal local academic assessment: - Knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics, or - Knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading readiness, writing readiness, and mathematics readiness, as appropriate. Summary of Responsibilities: Provide instructional support services; assist teacher in instruction, preparation, and management of classroom activities; work under direct supervision of teacher; assist with administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments; assist with maintaining neat and orderly classroom; assist with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment; assist with administrative records and preparing reports; provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers; assist in conducting parent involvement activities; help supervise students throughout the day, inside and outside classroom, including: cafeteria, bus, playground, and before/after school duty; keep teacher informed of special needs or problems of individual students; participate in staff development training programs, staff meetings, and special events as assigned; maintain confidentiality; maintain familiarity with the district s curriculum to better serve the needs of students. Salary Schedule: This is a 10 month position. Salary is based on the district salary schedule. All applicable state and local benefits apply.
